Subject: weight to horsepower?

You guys are saying weight to hp ? Ain't this kinda backwards? How can you set hp off of all the combos with out a great difference in the inches and different makes???? wouldn't cubic inches / carbs be more fair and equal ???? This sounds like the old factory ratings to gain an advantage in racing and to help with the insurance ratings. you big block guys need to get a grip on it and get real Its is sad when a 580 plus can't hang with a 400 inch small blk. when the big block with a little smarts can and should run away with these rules. maybe the super class racers are just dumb and can't build HP with a big blk ???

[> Re: weight to horsepower? We thought about every way we could come up with to even this thing up. What we have done is try to figure out what combo makes what HP and even it from there with weight. Even with a weight/ cu. inch, there are those who will make more HP/inch... what's the answer for that? That just makes it a "whoever can throw the most cash at it" thing. Limiting the heads was the best thing we could come up with. Send in a questionaire after the 16th... we will consider all. -- John Harrison, 07:58:29 11/03/02 Sun [1]
