.Hey TPSA I like your concept but don't like the rules???? I know what your thinking, well here we go again another cry baby that wants you change the rules to fit there car , but please here me out !!!!! I have and have 5 other fellow gassers that have cars that weigh aprox 2350# , no NOS , auto/glides , BUT WE HAVE 555, 565, 572" BBs WITH BIG CHIEF HEADS we would love to take of the throttle stops and come do some heads up racing with you guys. We can't justify/and are not going to change our cylinder heads/motors to race in your assocociation. We appreciate your intentions in trying to create and affordable style of headsup racing and I think your on the right track with No Nitrous , NO Blowers , No Turbos , No Lenco , No Clutches , No Small Block X Pro Stock Truck Motors this takes out alot of the high dollar high maintence issues (like the KOTH guys, those NOS motors are out after every race and if you dont have a bruno you cant hang). LIKE I SAID WE LIKE YOUR CONCEPT !! I don't know what your issue is with big chief style heads ? You can buy 18 deg's from Shafiroff and some others for $4500. ported and ready to go and guys are going to spend $3000./$3500.plus on a set of maxed 355s. HERES AND IDEA; Why dont you let big cheifs in but limit them to SHORT DECK BLOCKS and single four (cast manifold) this would limit them to 565/572 max and let the conventional style BB cylinder headed guys run UNLIMITED cubic inch and maybe 2 - 4s on a cast tunnle ram , this should create equal horsepower and level playing field and you also don't have to deal with pumping the motors all you have to do is weigh the cars. You also might think of dropping the weight to 2350# (like the pro stocks) almost all the super class tube frame cars can meet that weight and it just makes the cars a little faster. This should put the cars down in the 4s in the 1/8 & 7s in the 1/4. I/WE THINK THIS WOULD OPEN YOUR FORMAT UP TO ALOT MORE RACERS. You will have alot more cars per event and you should have alot more SPECTATORS. I think your right about one thing spectators want to see heads up racing, but they want to see FAST heads up racing and if you get the cars in the 4s/7s the spectators will come out and support your program. Thanks for hearing my opinion and I wish you guys luck with your effort, I hope I can race in your program???

[> Mark....see thats where the rules are a problem...you forgot to poll every guy with any kind of race car,what rules would fit his car!It seems like they just answered their own question about the motors.If the"lesser"heads are so cheap, and you want to run in TPSA,it shouldn't be hard to get rid of the big chiefs...i know the next question,,"why should we have to change our car?".....CAUSE THAT WHAT IT TAKES TO FIT IN THE CLASS!Change the cars...not the rules.We just happen to be lucky, our car fits...but we have nitrous....can we leave it on??...NOPE -- Tim, 19:24:23 09/12/02 Thu [1]
