Subject: Burton and swearing

It's not Burton's job to parent!!! I personally would rather have him say fuck over taking the Lord's name in vain. Burton is a grown man, age 52. Tell your kid that when she is 52 she can have her own house, her own computer, gold records on the wall and say shit 40 times in a row, but in her own house and when she grows up. She is your daughter and in your house and still a kid and has to abide by your rules until she is old enough to leave. And if you're raising her correctly, she'll abide by your house rules when she come home to visit. When I was 12 I tried to smoke Du Maurier cigarettes like I saw Burton smoking onstage, I tried to wear my wristwatch on the inner part of my wrist like I saw him doing one time (and I still do after I cracked too many crystals wearing them the traditional way). I read about him drinking Dr Pepper in the States and had to go out and buy it as soon as it was available in Canada. I always ordered Lowenbrau after I had my first beer with the Guess Who and that was what they gave me. (I was an exspensive date after that). Thing is, as I got older and was better equipped to reason, I decided that I didn't need beer at all, or the dumb cigarettes. Parents lay the groundwork and if you find something objectionable, tell your kid, not Burton, unless Burton is saying it about you. Burton please keep on swearing to y0ur *&^%$#@! hearts content. And there is a certain MacLean & Maclean song I just bout started singing, somewhere along this train of thought, oi vey.

Well, my thought is that there is probably some real heavy stuff that BC _could_ tell us that has _way_ more to do than just the odd expletive here and there. I think that he's being _real_ selective as to waht he feels is appropriate to excerpt onto here from his book, and the odd "f" or whatever should be taken with a grain of salt and, perhaps, the readers could substitute it in their own minds with "Flames" and its variations (i.e. I was so Flamin' happy to see him!). That way, we can all cheer the Flames into the playoffs (it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen) and have fun doing it.
Love,
Mandrew
