Subject: JUST LIKE REAL LIFE

As in real life, c space is full of bullies, cretins and stalkers...I had my first real encounter with three of them early this morning...fortunately I have a very advanced hacker/programmer friend who came to my aid when I needed him most...I refuse to be bullied out of my own fan club just because some people have it in for me...
Thanks Deb for riding shotgun on some of the madness this morning...I shall keep posting under the name Luxton for now, although I'll probably have to alter a couple of my e mail addresses...to all of you...when these small groups of computer whiz people gang up on you, just walk away and get off line as quickly as possible...some horrible things were said here this morning and I'm glad to see that Deb is on top of things...thanks to all of you for your support...let's just get things back to where they were a couple of days ago...
I'll post a few more varied experpts from the book over the next couple of days for those who are interested...
tonight I'm going to see CSNY here in Toronto...probably won't sign in later...still a bit gun-shy after this morning's strange events and encounters...
Thankfully, this matter has been strongly dealt with and once again, thanks to Deb for the help.

Luck and Health to all who visit here for the right reasons

BC

Burton- I wouldn't assume they had it in for you- we've had creeps around here long before you arrived. I'm very glad you have some experts helping you. If they haven't already told you, ask them about using a proxy server which would help protect your id and location. Unfortunately aol is rife with creeps and it is Hacker's Headquarters...Bob

I agree with this 100%. There are allot of pricks (mostly kids, I think) out there that destroy just because they can, not necessarily for any higher (lower) purpose than that.

Well, I was working this morning and do not know what happened. Just hope all is ok now Burton. Just wanted to comment on your postings. Cannot wait for the book. Thanks for sharing. BTW when I was at the R&R Hall of Fame. I held up the line for some time looking at the exhibit for the Doors. What I found most interesting was JM grade school report card. He received a c in music and a comment that it was not his strength. Kinda glad he ignored that teacher!!!! :)......Debbieray2

Well, fortunately, I didn't see the false posts, but hang in there Burton; this bulletin will be a goldmine of resources for you, not a landmine of blowups. A friend of mine is going to CSNY in Toronto, too. Be interested in your review, although I realize you may be giving Crosby the gears afterwards. Always loved your "I hung out with David Crosby for God sakes, what does that tell you?" quote from a TV interview.

I was pretty bummed out by lunch, mostly afraid that the cyber creep would scare you away. Then I turned on the radio and you were singing "These Eyes" to me and I knew all would be right with the cosmos in NO TIME.

Don't let anything or anyone keep you away from here. This is your home and your true fans want you here very much.

Thanks Mr. C.

I think your character and experience shines through with this retort.

I can see you put a lot of work into the book. I will never admit to living a boring life (even if it is), but I must say I find reading these bits about your life tremendously fascinating. It is amazing the different roads people travel. For a number of reasons I think an autobiography is a great thing for every person to do, famous or not. I also have to say I find your excerpts expetionally well written, the prose by itself is enjoyable to read.

Thanks agan for sharing this with us

What a relief! Some of us were a bit worried this morning.

[> Burton, ask David Crosby THIS..... -- Heidi, 17:57:15 03/30/00 Thu [1] (pacfa.evepier.navy.mil/192.245.204.138)

Hi Burton! Warmly glad you're not turned off to the board due to derelict imposters! Enjoy the CSNY concert -- saw them last in San Diego in, about, 1983) -- if you see David Crosby before or after, ASK him about his fly-out/day-trip onboard my aircraft carrier, the Carl Vinson (mentioned during last Friday's chat!). He just might convince you to try to visit one of these 'bird farms' yourself! Mr. C ate lunch in our "Chief's Mess" that day -- I recognized him by the trademark twinkle in the eye when he sat at our table -- and he was able to quietly enjoy the 'field trip' without having to do anything in return. (We have these 'VIP visits" all the time at sea).
And I promise there's no Seagull Stew!
Thank you so much for visiting and thinking of your fans! - navygirl

Hey Burton. Don't let ANY idiots ruin this for you. All of us regulars are absolutely HONOURED that you are posting here.
It's too bad some people out there are simply jealous and childish. Don't let it bring you down. You're WAY too good for that!
