but then as BC would say, " MY MY MY".

AW should sell transcripts for $5 w/ proceeds
going to a BC fan party at a tour stop this summer.

That's absolutely incredible. Isn't technology wonderful? In the old days you had to travel forever, stand in line forever just in the hope of getting a glimpse, an autograph, and maybe a few words with your favorite performers. Now you can converse until the wee small hours of the morning. INCREDIBLE.

I've never been in a chatroom before -- how does it work, AW?

Well, it's just a little html chat, which is kinda more like this board than a more sophisticated IRC chat (not really suitable for a lot of people), but you're talking as you're going along ,not posting and having people come along and add to it later. So you're talking to people who are actually in the room at that time. Anyway, it was fun, it was just the mostly the regulars and a few newcomer posters- no I didn't know ahead of time.

Well, if Burton is going to drop in for another chat(s) session, it would be prudent for us diehards to submit what each of us think is a reasonable setlist -- reasonable being that they would probably only feel comfortable doing 3 or 4 non-hit songs per show. I am a huge fan, I mean HUGE fan of several non-hit GW material. It would be interesting to see what everyone would come up with for their 3 non-hit cuts that would transcend well to a live setting.

Actually, VFD and I were tossing that idea around as a fun possibility for a poll on the Burton ONELIST poll site. We can put up to 25 possible song choices to vote on, and then see what the results are after a week or two. The poll keeps track of who made the vote, too, so there can't be any "ballot-stuffing", and you can change your vote anytime before the poll closes, if you change your mind. We'll have to decide on the 25 songs to list, first, though. -- Fred

Well you chat guys are far too groovy. And what class Burton has for dropping by and staying that long. Prior to AW and the predecessor boards there was no outlet for the huge emotion we all feel for the greatest voice in rock and roll. As for the concert play list, I hope the later albums and Burton's solo stuff gets good coverage because that's what permanently etched his voice in my mind. TGW is great - and Burton is TGW to me. BTW, if the tour doesn't make the states, we'll definately be coming to dine in Canada. Oh yeh, Oh yeh, we're coming to dine (where's the party gonna be AW?).

Did anyone else who was there last night have trouble sleeping? I was exhausted but I couldn't sleep. I just kept chuckling. Man, did he ever play cat and mouse with us before he revealed his "secret identity". I really thought we were being scammed.

I will have trouble sleeping tonight, now that I know for sure. I checked out about 12:30....and at that point I was highly suspicious that it was him. If only he'd come clean a little sooner......

Wow! That is sooo cool!
Geez! I wish I didn't work nights!
I have to be honest though. Even if I was off (and I am sometimes), I wouldn't have a clue where or how to take part in these wonderful chats...Could someone fill me in?

Scott-the link to our little fan chatroom is on the AW page. It says Fan chat! Just choose a handle the first time. Anyway, it was cool that Burton showed up, he kept teasing us with little hints like "I hear the GW are going on tour" "I hear they have 8 hours of ky58 shows on video tape and it might be a tv sp"

So what was Burton's chat handle? Just curious.

luxton- he said he picked it because he thought it was obscure and no-one would connect it to him. (haha)I asked him if he was from Winnipeg right away. He seemed to get a kick out of throwing little teasers at us until he came right out with it.

So how did you find out it was really himself?

When we'd gotten really suspicious, a few people fired really obscure questions at him that only he would know. He passed with flying colors. Then Fred, who knew about it beforehand, said, "Everybody, meet Burton Cummings." Couldn't have been more dramatic. We all babbled away for a few minutes trying to express our appreciation for his WONDERFUL music and then settled in to a fairly adult, intelligent chat with only a few asides like, "My God, I can't believe this" or "Where'd the air go in this chat room. I feel like I can't breathe." A GREAT time was had by all. I think Burton had a good time, too. At least he was gracious enough to make us feel that he did.

Ken, I'm sure you know by now that Burton's handle was Luxton. Still using it on the board. One thing that hasn't really been mentioned yet is how he got out of the room when it was finally time for him to go--he was headed to his home studio to do some recording. Since everyone was still there that late because of him, how was he gonna leave, just walk out? He SANG his way out of the room. Is that classy, or what? We all loved it! What a night!

I can't beleive that I missed BC on chat!!!!!!! I had good intentions of trying it for the first time but it didn't pan out. Can anyone of you lucky fans let me know if there was any talk about special tickets for us to the concerts.

He kinda evaded that question, said that that would be up to his management but that he'd have to ask them about it (I specifically asked, could we maybe get a shot at buying our tickets first through some special email site, etc.). So you never know!
