No, there were plenty of AUUUUUGHHHHHHHHH look what
they've done to our song posts on the old board back in
april when it first came out. My first reaction when I
saw the video on VH1 was EEEEK! But Burton likes it.

I guess it is hard to mention Lenny's version without mentioning that sleazy, hip-gyratin' video. In the same interview on BYNON, Burton mentioned that he didn't particularly care for music videos in that they dictated or foisted upon the listener the images which the person would subsequently always visualize whenever hearing the tune. The problem here is that the person is then deprived of the opportunity to do his/her own visual interpretations of the music, limiting his/her imagination. Similar to the difference of reading a book vs. watching a movie I suppose. In the case of Lenny's American Woman, one tends to always picture than chick doing the grind on the hood of car.
So...that's a bad thing? :^)
