First of all, Fred H. is the one who deserves most of the credit for For The Fans...all I did was give my permission to have it distributed...I have hours and hours of pretty good sounding tapes im my personal library of home recordings...Star on 45's was done in my little home studio here in Los Angeles...and there's another volume of Star on 45's coming your way very soon...back in the 70's, there was a record by a group called Stars on 45...my title is just a small twist on that...I've done three volumes so far...the one on For the Fans is Volume 2...Volume 1 will be made available to you all next...it is longer and has some "theatrical" comedic bits in it...what I do is get a basic drum groove that suits my mood and them make a basic "road map" of the particular songs I want to include (titles, segues and keys) and then do it all in one continuous take...it's great fun for me because I get to be a bunch of different singers during the run...I'm pleased as hell that some of you are finally getting to hear some of this rare stuff...I never wanted to keep them all to myself, but I had no idea before last Friday night that so many of you were interested in things like that...all that will change from here on...Volume 1 includes comedic "rap" versions of Guns Guns Guns and Break It To Them Gently...pretty silly stuff...
Once again, thank you for your interest...you have rejuvinated my drive to do more for the real fans...I am touched...

Luck and Health

Luxton (BC), I would like to say that I am really sorry that I missed the chat on Friday night - I hope to catch you next time. I have had the privilege of meeting you several times with the Swordfish and it has been such a pleasure. I also wanted to add my thanks to you, Fred and Sam for the "For the Fans" cd! I can't listen to it enough and I'm thrilled to hear that you are giving us another volume!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you have done! Your music has touched my soul!

I am anxiously awaiting the reunion concert! Luck and health to you too!

Thanks for being you!

C.

Yes, I must add my thanks again to all those involved: Fred for distribution, Sam for liaison, Bannatyne for the cover and most of all, Burton for the MUSIC and making it available.

Tales - thanks, but I can't take credit for the covers. Mike in Winnipeg designed the insert and tray liner. I did design the disc label. I included the covers and labels on copies I supplied - to mostly fans in the U.S. They look great, and of course, the contents of the CD really make the whole thing. Man, I can't wait for the next Volume! Thanks so much Burton, Sam, Fred and Mike.

Not to mention making the music in the first place. I had a good time playing my part in it, and I was happy that I could get it on CD format, so that it lasts longer for everyone. Besides, I couldn't pass up the chance for an exclusive distribution deal for one of your CDs. Thanks to Sam for getting the ball rolling, Joe/Bannatyne for coming off the bench as a US sub-distributor, and Mike/Moonbeam Maker for sharing his talents on the cover insert. Thanks also to the various postal systems for not losing one single package.
This was truly an enjoyable project. It was interesting to see where all the different orders came from, including one from Indonesia and another from England. I'll get together with Joe and come up with a final count, along with a country breakdown, for your interest. I've put names and locations with the various on-line names, and I hope now to put more faces with names at some of the upcoming shows. The fans here and on the ONELIST
