Many many years ago I had a band called "Violation". We weren't very good, and when we couldn't do a popular song, we did a medley instead. As no one in the band could sing, and I was the least worst singer, I was assigned the task. Never could do a GW thing (though, God knows, we tried) but we did do a half decent BTO medley (let's face it, takin' care of business can be sung by anyone (maybe that's why it's so good???) but couldn't come close to doing a GW thing. That requires REAL talent.

I've been singing publicly since I was 8 (I'll be 40 this year), and though I've had minor embarrassments -- like reaching down to pick up my fellow musician's pick and splitting my pants, like being on stage at the Pennsylvania Junior Miss contest and having laryngitis to the point my voice just takes off to parts unknown during the middle of my song, etc. -- I really think, though, that my most embarrassing moment is still out there waiting for me...

My favorite moment was during a tryout for the TNN production of "You Can Be A Star", the country version of Star Search. After my audition, the producer let me and my friends go up on the stage of The Grand Old Opry. That's a moment I'll never forget.
