"Star Baby" is the ultimate for me in the POP category (although there's definitely some good old R n R in there), I would agree that there are some better GW songs, but not on WS. I would hate to think that their 1st RCA LP was their greatest, as if it was all downhill after that. I would certainly rate AW, STL, AP,PITM, ROCKIN' & FLAV's ahead of it. Best GW song? Today, I'll go with "All Hashed Out".

Today, I'd have to go for UNDUN as pop single and AMERICAN WOMAN, LIVE AT THE PARAMOUNT as best GW song. My opinion probably would change on a daily basis also!

I thought of "Undun" for
THE ULTIMATE POP SONG (song...song...song...[echoes, get it?]),
but thought maybe it was of a too off-the-beaten track structure for that. Can you think of a song anywhere in the history of top 40 that's laid out like that one?
Yeah, the old "American Nurse, etc." was definitely a life-changing experience.

Don't know about top 40 but Moondance in many ways is similar and continues to receive extensive play on classic rock stations.
