I disagree. Some of the songs on the album are derivative in nature. The Guess Who was developing at this point in time and still trying to "find themselves". American Woman was a real breakthrough album as the music really became their music and sound. Wheatfield Soul is a good album and interesting to listen to but I don't think it is as good as most of the albums from American Woman on.

WS is definitely worth revisiting on disc as I did last year and now have a greater appreciation for it. I esp. like the use of sitar by Randy. But the later albums evolved into a much more mature sound that I wouldn't want to miss.
