Which can help their relative have an advantage. Even if the contestant is currently in Teen they will eventaully move up to Miss. Let alone some of the older Teens that the Director has sat in on interviews and know exactly what the judges are looking for and knows how each girl interviews, knows their strengths and weaknesses. Each year when a Director gets a new girl to work with and get ready for Miss NJ, he/she gives that girl the benefit of his/her experience and knowledge of the system. It doesn't matter if they are related or not. The more the Director has to offer, the more "advantage" his/her girl gets.

I'm not related to anyone, but have enough integrity not to share their strengths/weaknesses/paperwork with other girls or friends I still have in the system. Conflict of interest is unavoidable when you're a volunteer.

I believe you can volunteer and treat each girl the same. And yes, directors share with the girl they are working with each year but it becomes very personal when its your relative.
