Subject: You have to put it into this perspective: she could have been just one point above the next girl, or even just one point above several girls if the next few tied. And then possibly been multiple points behind five or more girls in talent, gown, or fitness. She was most likely right behind that top group of finishers, but other scores kept her from making that top five. It was a competitive group of young ladies.
