Subject: Fact is if she is a former; she is no longer aligned with the organization; just a private citizen. And therefore he said nothing hurtful or harmful to the organization. If her comments were found to be in poor taste by someone in the organization (in this case Michael Kelly) that person has every right to express that her comments do not mirror their own opinion. Nothing was said that refutes or calls into question the organization or any of its members. His freedom of speech is protected just as plainly as the former who expressed her opinion. And if we want to get technical, no one even knew about it until someone else posted about it on a message board - so who is really in the wrong here? I'd say the OP of this thread.

In reply to: Michael Kelly's Facebook post (Director of Miss Liberty)---He also compared Miss America 2003 (Erika Harold) to Hitler. 's message, ""That awkward moment when you un-friend a former Miss America because her political viewpoint expired in 1780. Some people should stick to singing and dancing. Oh! And the swimsuit competition."" on 18:01:34 06/05/13 Wed

[> [> Subject: so the point of your message is: 1. once you are a Miss America you are no longer affiliated with the organization? that she is nothing more to the organization than a private citizen? that's great to hear that she is nothing after her year is over. 2. It is okay to say that she should stick to the swimsuit competition simply because her opinion does not align with yours (and by yours i mean Michael Kelly). I see that you think that he should be able to say that a girl is pretty much beneath him because she does not agree with him. That is a terrible message for a director to send to possible contestants. Why would a girl want to compete in his local if she does not agree with him politically?
