Maybe we can apply this solution to all 3chip installations. Instead of changing the cap at the IF filter pin of the IF chip, we can apply the output of our own DC restore circuit directly to the IF AGC filter pin. Does your 5508W apply the AGC correction voltage directly to the AGC filter pin? Are you sampling the blanking during the HBI or the black level during the video using a neg peak-detector. If you are sampling the blanking level, do you have a valid dc level or is it a "raised" blanking level.
