I'm sampling the black level during a quiet line in the blanking interval (line 16 on my PAL system) and the correction voltage is applied directly to the AGC filter pin on the IF chip (pin 13 LA7555) where I had previously used a 47uF capacitor as a crude fix.
I'll get a schematic together shortly for you (no scanner here).
