Dear Sister:

You are in a hard situation and I know you want to help. But please be careful. We are all human and it is recommended that a male pastor never counsel a woman alone and this should apply to a female pastor counseling a man. There is a good basis for this. Not saying you did anything wrong or anything like that. Just thought I would mention it as it is part and parcel to any faith-based counselor training. Now, you could very well counsel him with another person present, that would be fine and in fact is the recommended format...just as where a male pastor's wife would sit in should he counsel a woman.
