Can also be caused by too much endfloat in the crankshaft. If you have a very "endfloaty" engine you'll find that flywheel oil seals do not last very long before they start dripping.

Otherwise, like Lawrence says, take it off and check everything. A new O ring would not go amiss while you're in there, and make sure the new oil seal goes in dead straight.
