I hated Latin but by brother was a great at it. He is only 15 months older than me and I had all the teachers he had at Prestwick High. Well after having him my sister and I didn't quite cut it and teachers made no bones about letting us know. I look at it this way, if we were all born academics, life would be so boring. My brother was always a clever kid, even having gone to a wee primary school in the hills, he was a brain! He's still a Criminal Lawyer but has semi-retired and is now taking life easy in the country. Loves Rosa and the dogs and has always been a good big brother. What more could I ask for?
It's funny, a friend of ours died here and my brother organised the funeral and the plaque. Part of the the inscription on the plaque is in Latin and reads 'Per Vias Rectas' which translated means 'By Straight Paths". This was how this person lived their life and just happaens to be Prestwick High's School motto.
