Bronze coloured chrysanths are what I associate with my Dad, he too nurtured them except that one year a small, 18 month old child picked all the budding flowers and took them in to her grandma, along with all the green tomatoes that were growing alongside the house. He didn't bat an eyelid, just picked her up and blew on her tummy until she giggled. Ian was very wide-eyed with apprehension because his father (so very unlike his grandfather) would have blown a gasket and grandad just said that the bairn wasn't to know and thought she was picking something pretty. I agree though about colour, it's like the heart-stopping moment when you tun a corner into a bluebell wood and there is this mass of dancing blue in front of you and you don't know where to look first. The attached photo was taken at Strumpshaw Fen, which is an RSPB place in Norfolk, right beside the River Yar. I couldn't really do the place justice, but it was phenomenal and abssolutely beautifu (plus we saw some of our favourite birds, the Marsh Harriers), it's a lovely place to go, and only about 40 minutes drive from home.
