The public transport in Hepburn Springs is bad as well. One bus all day at 6.30 AM to take anyone who wants to go the the train station. If you start in Melbourne at 9.00AM you get that bus and one bus back to Hepburn in the evening again. Terrible isn't it? Everyone here has a car or you'd be lost for sure. I commented that I see buses at 8.30 AM and around 4.00PM and have been told that they are the school buses. I see cabs running around the place most of the day and that's what people here have to do.
My brother who is semi retired lives a few doors away and won't drive as he plays billiards with his mates in the afternoon so when he has a couple of beers he won't get behind the wheel so it cost him about $20.00 a day sometimes to go and see his mates. His wife refuses to be his chauffeur so he just calls a cab. She will if she's home but otherwise it's a yellow cab. In Melbourne where I lived the bus stop was a house away and a bus came every hour. Just as well I don't need public transport now. Being retired is everything I knew it would be isn't it BB? Now I wonder where I fitted in going to work. I mean there's gardening to do, ducks to feed, walks to go on. Lunches to be had, sun to be bathed in, shopping to do with Rozika, coffees at the old Mill. Ah life is just so hard isn't it?
