You need some like the ones we have had here today. Having double glazing fitted so we can put the cottage on the market as it won't sell with windows that are rotting and falling to bits. The surveyor thought maybe 2 & 1/2 days to complete, 11 windows in total. They have put in 8 windows today, and should be finished by lunchtime tomorrow. They don't stop for a lunch break as they like to get as much done the first day to take the pressure off the next. Mind, it has cost heaven only knows how many cups of tea and coffee, they must have had a dozen each, handful of homemade biccies each, polished off the rest of the tin of home made buns, so I made some more which have serious inroads in, but then I did take some round to Sam and some over the Liz and David & I had one each as well, but of the 2 dozen I made I would be surprised if there was a dozen left, but it has meant that they have cheerfully helped put the curtain rails back up, and cleared out a gutter that was blocked and that we couldn't get to but one of them was on the utility room roof right beside where we were having problems so sorted it for us. Very grateful to him as well. We've generally been lucky with the workmen who have come here, apart from electricians. The plumbers have been brilliant, but Rachel's lad is a trainee electrician, just one more year to go of his college course, and he has in any case said that he will quite happily come here and stay for a while with Rachel (and possibly the sprog) and do what's necessary, such as replacing the barge boards around the roof line and sorting out 2 lights that need fixing, and then we can put the house on the market without any worries, and get more for it than it was valued for 5 years ago when it was all shabby as we can now redecorate properly with decent windows.
