Thanks Gilly. I've got eight pork chops and I think I'll add some sausages as well now that you mention it as there will be five of us for Sunday dinner and we all have big appetites. I'll need to use two or maybe even three trays/pans and switch their positions in the oven during the cooking.

I'm looking forward to the preparation and the consumption. Cooking is chemistry after all, chemistry being the science of transformation.

I've never cored an apple but I'll give it a go. I usually eat them whole; skin, pips, everything but the stalk. My granny had an obsession with peeling apples with a knife in such a way that the skin ended up as an unbroken spiral, much like half a DNA double-helix (though I doubt she had that analogy in mind). I eat them whole to rebel against the perfection-of-peeling that I found a bit disturbing as a boy. Our habits are sown in the garden of youth, I suppose.

I'll take photies of the feast.
