I was teaching my Australian (great) nephews and nieces some Scots the other day and I started to remember all sorts of wee rhymes: Remember this one - I think I have it right:

Mrs McGuire peed in the fire
The fire wiz too hot so she peed in the pot
The pot wiz to wide so she peed in the Clyde
And aw' the wee fishes ran up her backside!!!

And another I think I remember properly

Skinny Malinki Long Legs big banana feet
Went to the pictures couldna get a seat
When he got a seat he fell fast asleep****
Skinny Malinki Long Legs big banana feet

Or the rude version we used when mam was not about

****When the pictures started Skinny Malinki farted

Is this definitely a sign of getting old when you start to recall your childhood
