Ani When you were talking about sitting in the sunshine and fishing, it reminded of me of a job I had here, was the toolroom leading hand with 20 toolmakers, I was not allowed to do any work myself, just supervise and get all the tooling done by the toolmakers and then sent to the various production departments, I was bored as was this other Scots leading hand so we fished in a dam we had on the property and what we caught we put back in to catch again next day, we felt like Huckleberry Finns, I also played table tennis during working hours or went for a run, and the young apprentices were growing Marijuana in big pots along the bushes which backed on to the railway line, they would be out watering them every morning before they did a stroke of work..
Management got to find out and they burned the whole crop in a big 44 gallon drum and they were all round sucking up the smoke from the drum.. bloody holiday camp it was... Another job I got, The Quality manager was a Squash and Golf fanatic. I was going for the position of Q A inspector and my pal said to tell the boss at the interview that my interests were Squash & Golf, did that and was a shoe in, and we played Squash and Golf on certain days during working hours for years at General Electric, Had some hum dingers of jobs, took the workers and office staff in Aerobics and exercise to music sessions twice a week while there at GE as well, I would be at a meeting and the boss would tell me it was time I left the meeting for my sessions with the workers, then in the next job I took the office staff for a run plus exercise at 4-30 3 times a week... I hated week-ends as I was having such a good time at work....
