I'm temping at the moment. Had an email from one of the many agencies on 23 Dec asking if I could work 24th, so worked for 4 hours and then 13 hours New Year week, and all last week, and back with them next. Working for loss adjusters trying to sort out people who have suffered devasting bursts with the cold that we have had, with houses being flooded, ceilings coming down, carpets 2" deep in water, and even more thatched cottages going up in flames. Not a nice time of year at all, they were saying that in over 30 years they have never seen anything like it. Our office took in over 100 new claims just last week, so you can imagine what it must be like over the rest of the UK.

Have you heard back from the Census people? I've a friend who applied but has been turned down, although I think that's because although she is going to be in England at the relevant time she actually lives in France, so I can see there being difficulties with tax and NI, not that she would pay NI as she will be 66 in March. Hope that she & I can meet up when she comes over, along with the rest of the gang from school, for one of our twice yearly get togethers.

Do keep us posted on the book!!!!!!

Gilly
