Well I got a couple wrong as well as missing out the mushrooms. I wouldn't have recognised the tatty scone = we can buy them, albeit called potato cakes, in the supermarkets, don't taste anything like those Mam used to make, but tasty enough well toasted (sorry folks) and then well buttered, but what I can buy isn't really like the one in the photo as it certainly doesn't get lovely golden brown like that one is, nd I would never have guessed at haggis although I suppose the oatmeal should have told me, but I've not tried haggis since a small child, didn't like it so haven't tried it since. There is a vegetarian haggis but I think it sounds even worse than ordinary haggis. Dad loved haggis, and some pies that I think were made with mutton, but I can't remember what they were called, other than Scotch pies. I thought they were revolting as well. Mind, I was only 18 months when I left Scotland, having lived there from 3 months, and then in Wales until I was 3, by which time Dad had come out of the army (he stayed on after the war as he was a regular and fought in Palestine as well as covering the Nuremburg war trials)and Mam & Dad had found somewhere we could live as a family, they had gone to England when Dad came out of the army to find somewhere, and lived in 1 room with the use of a bathroom & kitchen until they found a tack room above some old stables that Dad made habitable which was when I finally joined them.
