Subject: The new photie

Last month I visited my brother in Scotland. On the first night we blethered and drank ourselves beyond the brink of nonsense. The next day we took our hangovers for a walk. An hour wandering around the graveyard of Abercorn parish church helped to clear the candy floss from our heads.

I found these snowdrops in the graveyard and took the photie. Life sprouting from the garden of the dead. A ghost couldn't compete with such spectral whiteness. We didn't see any ghosts but we did see images of bread rolls on a seventeenth century baker's headstone that reminded us of the bacon rolls we'd had for breakfast.

What pollinates snowdrops by the way? Aren't the insects still comatose in their wee beds?

Hope you like the photie.

BB
