Subject: Darla = Spike???? (possible spoilers for episode 9 of BtVS)

Buffy: Ugh, Ew, gross Spike. He left. I was depressed. Ergo badness [sleeping with Spike?] and...You have to let it go.

Spike: I've changed. (might be "I'm changing" or "I can change.")

Buffy: Please. Let it go.

She walks away. Spike grabs her.

Buffy: Don't touch me

She hits him. He hits her back hard and she falls on the ground. He has a very delayed chip reaction. She gets up, hits him back and he falls down, which is when she says "You're nothing but a disgusting thing."

He's on his knees facing the camera, wiping his mouth and she's standing behind him...looks like more "you're beneath me" imagery here.""

Blue here. I wouldn't post this if I didn't think *Darla thoughts,* but am I the only one that got an "Epiphany" vibe here? After Buffy sleeps with Spike she gives him the ultimate put down in an episode where things aren't supposed to be as they seem. Okay, remember all of the "what the??" scenes in Epiphany such as Angel's entry into Kate's apartment? The unexplainable Angel's "wake up in pain" moment after sleeping with Darla? I think this is good development though for Spike because he'll truly be tested. Will he be good for the sake of doing good?

I've also heard rumors that Spike becomes human later in the season and that's what that "I'm changing" line could be foreshadowing.

But am I seeing things? Am I the only one that sees quite a bit of similarity between Darla and Spike's development this year? They both get an episode featuring them in season 2 and then a major put down by the lead to only come back face to face with them again next season.

Spike may be facing a possible return to humanity.

What does Darla get along with this baby?

I guess she gets her wish: a second chance?

Maybe this season of ANGEL is about getting what you've been denied all of your life, because last season was in a way about being denied every chance offered to you, at least in Angel and Darla's cases.
