Now, now. Cordelia's a good character, but I have to admit that one of the reasons why I'm feeling slightly disaffected by a possible A/C pairing is the fact that the chorus and the fans are saying: "Look at Cordelia! Isn't she just so cool! She's so good and perfect for Angel!" I feel like I'm being beaten upside the head with A/C'ness and it's starting to turn me off. Now, look at Buffy/Spike. It took a year for the tide to turn and we were shown, step by painstaking step, Spike's struggle to come to terms with his love for Buffy. He was the one who discovered his attraction for Buffy. he was the one who realized that he was in love with her. With the way A/C was introduced in Offspring, Angel was told by Fred and afterwards, he starts thinking of Cordy in a more attractive way. It feels like the ship is being pushed onto me and I'm not sure how to react. Maybe my feelings will change in the next Angel episode, because it is starting to disturb me that I'm beginning to feel a little resentment towards a pet relationship of mine.

I agree. It's not so much the B/Aers that are against this, it is some of the Cordy fans that are very vocal in wanting to stake Darla. The baby itself is a threat because it is not something that can be swept under the rug. In the form of the baby, Darla's connection to Angel will be a lot more permanent than it was after Epiphany.

Darla has as much right to be in Angel's life as Cordelia does and I can't see why both women can't co-exist in Angel's world. Granted., Darla needs a major attitude change for this to work, but it's something that I want to see.

Even if Angel didn't truly love Darla during his 150 years with her, I would say that there is some affection between those two. After all, anyone who stays with another person for that long has to have *some* affection for their companion.
