The short instrumental "Far East" fades into "Deep Blue Sea", so this must be considered as one song.

I'm sorry to say, but the song is a disappointment. It is not exciting, Anggun sings a strange, unfitting melody and the "world music" samples are just too obvious.
"Deep Blue Sea" is still the best song of "Music Detected" because all the other tracks are total failures. "Elemental" is probably the worst piece of music I've ever spent my money on, just listen to this song and you know what I mean.

I can recommend "Music Detected" only for Anggun completists.

Over one year ago Antoine Gouiffes-Yan from Sony Music said:

"... there are such wonderful new stuff coming within the end of the year. Anggun is currently working on new sound material with key international producers. I've heard some of the stuff and I can tell you that this is going to be massive, huge, breathtaking. Something beyond ALL your expectations. Trust me, the best is yet to come, you hv seen nothing yet."

Was he talking about "Deep blue sea"?

Probably he talked about her next third album ? or another her collaboration with other artis or this new ' Deep Blue Sea ' ? Let's see and hope that it will be ! about '' Far East '' and ''Deep Blue Sea'' is connected eachother and I thought it was one song or one track 'cause after the chorus ( Deep Blue Sea ) ' Far East' is play again untill the end and this kind of music is an indonesian ethnic sounds, a little javaness or sundaness I guess ! especially when she sing in 'bahasa', it's reminds me of one sunda's traditional song a little bit ' bubuy bulan ' if its familiar :)Ochid

Antoine Gouiffres-Yan is very enthusiastic about Anggun ; I'm not sure about the results so far, but it took René Angelil (Céline Dion) a great deal of enthusiasm and patience to really develop Celine Dion. Maybe this collaboration (that I haven't listened to yet) isn't as good as could have been expected, as long as AGY believes in her, we can be assured he'll do his best to develop her. For once, there is a good guy ....Ayla_fr

Good guy? Enthusiastic? He's part of the Sony machinery and wants to sell his product. It was the idea of Sony to bring Anggun and Deep Forest together. The result is not a development but a step back. Anggun doesn't want to be associated with indonesian stereotypes but now she has to sing a mix of traditional music and Portishead doing "We are the world". There must be some people around this board. Does nobody have an opinion about that song?steven
