I'm sorry to say, but the song is a disappointment. It is not exciting, Anggun sings a strange, unfitting melody and the "world music" samples are just too obvious. "Deep Blue Sea" is still the best song of "Music Detected" because all the other tracks are total failures. "Elemental" is probably the worst piece of music I've ever spent my money on, just listen to this song and you know what I mean. I can recommend "Music Detected" only for Anggun completists. Over one year ago Antoine Gouiffes-Yan from Sony Music said: "... there are such wonderful new stuff coming within the end of the year. Anggun is currently working on new sound material with key international producers. I've heard some of the stuff and I can tell you that this is going to be massive, huge, breathtaking. Something beyond ALL your expectations. Trust me, the best is yet to come, you hv seen nothing yet." Was he talking about "Deep blue sea"? I doubt Anggun would participate to a project in which she doesn't fully commit, but she can also be badly advised. Nonetheless, for the part I have heard, I admit that song doesn't meet the expectations we could have ! I like the part sung in Indonesian, but not really the chorus that sounds strange. I'm also disapointed but let's wait for the audience reaction. Too bad you don't write more often to let us know and explain us why there isn't any INTERNATIONAL website, btw. Anyhow, this movie you were talking about will sadly be released in Scandinavia, which means very few of us will have an access to it, but be assured most of us will find a way to get her songs (and even buy them, isn't that great) ! :-) Anggun had said in an interview on CNN Talk Asia very lately that her deadline was end of 2002 for her upcoming album, well, we'll wait until 2003, as long as she does a good job : write the songs for her, first.
