hi! i heard jordan sing on "destination stardom" (he lost) prior to "american idol ii" a few years ago and i found his voice raspy, at times weak, not up to par with the modulated but masculine and versatile voice of even an average philippine singer.

and...except for victor wood, i'm pretty sure all of those filipino singers mentioned by fil-am can easily switch to standard american english diction from filipino english diction since the philippines claims to be the 2nd largest english-speaking country in the world with due credit to a half-century of philippine colonization by the usa. jordan segundo, by the way, like hawaii-raised martin nievera, has a hawaiian pidgin (hawaiian creole) diction, not standard american. oh, and josephine banig roberto when she sang and emerged as the grand champion on ed mcmahon's "star search" had a filipino diction.
