Roger,
Sorry I haven't been in contact - been busy.
I just had a rushed conversation with Hamidi who is on his way to the feral pig hunt in northern Australia.
Hamidi had two concerns -
1. The source of the meat is known and this is disturbing for Hamidi. Quite frankly he has a reputation to protect, and if customers were able to trace the source of his meat, that could ruin him. He prefers to deal in dark alleys, with men whose faces he cannot see, so there is no chance of the real source of the meat being uncovered.
2. The quality of the meat - and this is a big one. Quality is everything in this business and the quality of the meat in this situation is a problem, because its too high. If Hamidi started putting meat of this quality into his sausages it might raise customer expectations to normal levels and thus destroy the viability of future cost cutting exercises.
3.He suspects these are those talking political commentary goats and their meat is not the best for sausages. Their meat is a little tough. Last time he sold 500 sausages, made from their meat, to a local prison, the prisoners used the sausages to subdue the guards, break through a 2 foot thick concrete wall, and successfully assault an armoured personnel carrier. On the upside, the military are looking to cooked sausages to replace armour piercing rounds.
Did I say two? I meant three ("Our two main weapons are fear, surprise and terror, our three main weapons are fear, surprise, terror and ..")
Hamidi did however recommend his cousin Benababwee - he makes facial tissues - don't ask - and may be interested in buying the goats. I'll let you know if I hear anything at this end.
