(He took a deep breath and soothed her hair back as he shifted in the seat to let her lean against his chest more than his side, cradling her head on his shoulder and seeking her hand with his own against her stomach. He felt powerless to help her and since he was in no way used to that feeling it bothered him immensely.. ) We're almost there sweety.. (His voice was so calm that it made it seem like he was completely in control of the situation and his emotions, though really he was terrified inside.. his ability to convey calm was what made him such a good agent. As he shifted sideways in the seat to draw her back against his chest he murmured to her to lean into him and let him take her weight.. ) I wish I could take this pain from you, Shay.. (He said softly after she was through the contraction and he had wiped the sweat from her brow.) I'm so proud of you baby.. (He slowly massaged his hands over her stomach as he nuzzled her neck, trying to soothe her any way that he could. When the SUV pulled into the hospital drive, he remained with her, holding her until they had brought around a wheelchair and were helping her out his arms. Unsure of what to do with himself, he did what came naturally and started giving out orders in a stern but warm voice.)
