Braden was generally a very laid back guy. There wasn’t much of anything that every got his immediate reaction. He was the calm, cool headed one. He was the one who saved the day, the mission and the girl in Bangkok. He was the one who kept everything in order when other people were flying off the handle. He was the one who didn’t wince at the sight of a broken spinal cord protruding through the skin or get uncomfortable when someone brought up sex. All that considered, it said a lot when as soon as Remy spoke about Force Recon Braden stiffened up, his jaw setting though he didn’t furrow his brow or frown - that would be giving away to many of his feelings on the matter. “Force Recon no longer exists, you know that. That’s why I left. There was no more force Recon to be working with.” He obviously wasn’t freely opening up and giving any information about what went down with F.R. unless he was forced to. It just wasn’t something he talked about, he had never spoken about it except for to give his report to commanding officers and even in then he had told everyone who wanted to hear to get in the fucking room right then because he wasn’t saying anything twice. He just didn’t understand why, if he did such good work, Remy was bringing this up now of all times? He had never shown the least amount of interested in the time Braden spent in the marines unless it was asking about certain training he had or something, so this was just coming completely out of left field and threw him for a loop, that was for sure. This wasn’t really something he wanted to talk about, especially not to someone he barely knew. He couldn’t talk about it without getting emotional, he was sure of that, he couldn’t just throw it out there like a recapping report of events.
