Subject: Allan Border Medal

Does anyone even care?
Only a dozen or so players are eligible. Only a couple can win it. It's less interesting than the Jack Dyer or any other one club football trophy.
Why do they bother? Worst overhyped award in world sport.
We have an International Cricketer of the Year award. Why not make that a big gala Brownlow Medal type thingy? No rule against doing it Australia?
At least you'd generate discussion between Indians lauding batsmen who can only play balls that bounce below their knees versus Pakistanis arguing in favour of quickies who would have an average of less than 25 if they weren't being paid off by bookies.
