Subject: Raining here again in New England

Hi Ellie & Tina,

We have been having rain (heavy at times) for the last three days. Hopefully it will stop soon. I haven't heard the lastest weather forecast today. I will catch it on the night news.

Tina,

That is strange around my name appearing in your e-mail but computer have known to do strange things.

Ellie,

Sometimes one is better off when they do not have a large yard to take care of. As we get into our senior/golden years, we usually have to hire someone to take care of it for us. The only animals in town are usually squirrels and hedgehogs. At the park which is within walking distance from my house, one can see the ducks swimming at times during the year. There is also one crane that also appears.

Once when I was out walking my dog, I saw a huge moose who had wandered into a neighbor's yard. The neighbor had lots of trees and green which must have attracted the moose. I could not believe the size of it.

Tina,

Your area and the view from your house sounds so beautiful and relaxing.

My sister and one of her college friends from up North are stopping by later this afternoon to visit me. They want to see the lastest pictures of Kaitlyn and my granddaughters from Florida. I made banana bread and have already eaten a couple of pieces before they arrive. I also went grocery shopping and bought some watermelon too.

You both would have laugh out loud if you saw me with my huge golf umbrella walking Rufus up and down the street. The wind was also blowing and I was trying to keep my hat on while protecting Rufus from the pouring rain.

Because of his arthritis and age The vet advised me that I should no longer let him go down my back steps (8 steps) which leads into my fenced in yard. I now have to put him on a leash every time he needs to go out. Some mornings it is 5:00 a.m. but I treasure his companionship and do not mind. I never have been a night owl.

I have to sign off now as my sister will be coming shortly.

Take care.

Phyllis

Phyllis I can just picture you with your huge umbrella ! I have never had luck with the darn things..seems they always blow inside out at the most embarassing times, like just as I am opening it upon leaving the post office..at that time and no other about 10 people would be coming for their mail at once just as my umbrella blows inside out..that type of scene happened to me 3 times in past years..I now feel like a criminal when opening one..I look around to see if anyone is advancing! Now don't even ask me about beach umbrellas unless you are at a beach where a beautiful one with cats heads floats by...would really like to know what happened to it..perhaps it floaded to australia after it blew away..Ellie did you ever see it-lol?
Yes we have had rain, rain rain for days and supposed to be for the next 2 to 3 days..so here I go trying to run between the drops!
Phyllis are your stairs wide enough that you can fasten some old carpet to a board and put it like a wheelchair ramp on one side of your steps? I had to do that for one of our dogs one time but there were only 4 steps..depends on how steep your stairway is.
You mentioned hedgehogs , do they grow in the wild there? People here buy them in pet stores..very expensive.I thought they were from further away.
Hope you had a good time while you had visitors.
Ellie I hope all is going well for you, do your cats like each other or just tolerate each other? I must confess I forgot what colors there are.Do the try to catch the fish?
My sister-in-laws cat always was sticking her paw in the aquarium but never ever caught one.It was the cats day long form of television!
Well girls I did not work toward the animal shelter big sale..I had a bit of bad health, bladder infection and a mystery pain that has now seemed to subside, but I took my 10 year old granddaughter to the actual sale yesterday, she bought a beautiful dress, suitable for when she sings on local stages at school etc.and a pair of boots that must have cost a small fortune but for the dress and boots at the sale only $1. each. all I bought was a foot long brass moose with antlers, it is beautiful but I didn't need it-lol.
Must say bye for now-all the best to all!
