Subject: A very windy weekend..

Hi Tina.. Well, I haven't got around to putting in anymore recipes for Phyliss yet, but seems as tho she hasn't caught up on the first one anyway, I know she is busy caring for Caitlin.
Lovely for you (and the patients) at the nursing home Tina.. a lot of my working life has been nursing in homes for the elderly, and I've also worked in a volunteer capacity in nursing homes too.
There have been lots of sad, and lots of funny incidents.
When I was working night duty at one place an old lady of 92 got fixated on me. She called me 'MaryAnn' for some reason. When ever I was on nights off she gave the other staff merry hell screaming that she only wanted 'MaryAnn' they were always SO relieved when I came back on duty.
Another old guy fell in love with me, and wanted me to marry him! I was already married with 2 little children, which I told him, but he insisted.. wanted to show me how much he had in the bank..(a lot) etc, etc..Oh, dear. I finally convinced him that I couldnt marry him, but I would consider him a good friend. When I left that job he gave me a HUGE box of chocolates, perfume, etc.
Well, kind of ran away with myself there! Nothing to do with the heading, which was about our weekend of battering gale force winds.. a lot calmer weather today!
Ellie.

oh no ! not gale force winds..hope no trees came down, our trees nearest the house have gotten so tall that I am nervous when we get hurricaines, this is the season for them but so far we haven't had any. Trees as tall as ours cost at least $1000. to have removed and we should actually have 6 removed, alas all I can do is hope they stay standing another hundred years or so-lol
We had a grand time at the lake to a corn boil, oh it rained but they had tarpolins tied up to trees, where food and fun are one can forget the rain if it is warm weather.
Yesterday a sister in law phoned and said she had reservations made for her and my brother at a restaurant and pre-paid the mail, my brother had to go away to work and she wanted me to take his place , we had a lovely roast beef meal, made Englands way with yorkshire pudding, owners are from England and the dessert was so good but I have forgotten what they called it, it was a cake surrounded with some kind of sauce that wasn't too sweet , sort of a caramel, lemon mix.Very different but good.
It is early morning and I haven't decided on any plans for today..hope the day turns out to be a good one or a fun one, hope your whole week is a great one.
