Subject: Very Busy Week

Hi Ellie & Tina,

I have been extra busy as one of my sons arrived last week from Colorado to attend Kaitlyn's baptism. My daughter chose her twin brother with the honor of becoming Kaitlyn's Godfather. Baptism is a very special event in the orthodox faith.

We had a beautiful day and a lovely ceremony. We shared this special day with family and Kaitlyn's child care provider and her husband. They are very close to Kaitlyn and they adore her.

The ceremony began at 3:00 and lasted until 4:15. We took lots of pictures. My oldest son and family were unable to attend. I am sure he will enjoy the pictures. We had a total of 17 attending. Some of our family members could not attend.

Kaitlyn's christening gown was matte white satin with intricate hand-beaded lace on bodice, bonnet and skirt It tied in the back with a large satin sash. Their were 3 candles decorated with flowers and ribbons also used during the ceremony.

After the service we went to a restaurant call "The Cat N' Fiddle for a meal. The 3 choices were Broiled Haddock, Chicken Cordon Bleu, or Baked Stuffed Chicken Breast. The meals included fruit cup, tossed salad, potato, vegetable and vanilla ice cream with strawberries. My daughter also brought a vanilla cake decorated with pink flowers with the words: "God Bless Kaitlyn"

It was wonderful to share this special time with our love ones. Kaitlyn did very well and once at the reception, my daughter changed her into a pink and white dress and let her walk around the room which we had reserved for our event.

Ellie,

Thank you for the recipe, I will let you know how it turns out once I try it. I am sorry that the other ones did not go through. Please do not rush as I appreciate your sending them to me at your convenience.

I hope your weather improves. I do enjoy fall and the beautiful foliage.

I am not looking forward to our New England winter weather at all. My dog has arthritis and has trouble going up stairs. I have a ramp but can only use it until the snow falls as the snow from the roof creats ice in the winter and it is impossible to keep it clean. He also has trouble getting into the car on the days I have to take care of Kaitlyn. I bought a article that helps one lift the dog up. It has handles attached to it.

Tina,

I am glad that you are having the same warm weather we have.
How nice of you to help out at the nursing home.
I am keeping you in my prayers.

Thanks to both of you for your postings. I look forward to reading them.

Have a good week.
Phyllis

Phyllis, how exciting the baptism sounds and so nice to get together as a family, I think baptism is as wonderful as the birth day !
We are still having unusual warm weather for this time of year but as you and I know that can change overnight.
There are 3 deer that have decided to visit my lawn early every morning to eat the acorns that have fallen off the oak trees, the deer are so beautiful but I hope they do not decide to eat my rhodies.
Thank you for keeping me in your prayers,I think prayers are what is keeping me going.
All the best to you and yours
