Subject: Hey Gals.

So Had a very good writing weekend up at Wangaratta, a drive of about 3 hours north up country. My daughter Pam came this time, so she drove me and we took a friend Rebecca, Rebecca has been blind since she was 3 years old, but manages beautifully taking work shop notes on her little braille machine.
I did three interesting/very good workshops.. stayed 2 nights in a country hotel.. fun.. and we all had dinner together on the Saturday night with a literary trivia quiz after dinner and I won a prize.. a packet of fruit jubes!
Then yesterday was our own local Northern Notes writing festival, so I was helping out with in the afternoon, and that was very good too.. lots of interesting writer/speakers..
Next week is my grandsons Alexanders 2nd birthday, and the week after his brother Benjamin, 4 months, is being christened, so today I posted up gifts for the 2 little boys. I won't be there to celebrate with them seeing they live 700 miles away, but am really looking forward to seeing them when they come down at Xmas (and girls isn't Xmas getting close!)
Ellie.

Very happy for you that your "far away" family will visit at Christmas.
Hearing about your blind friend bought back memories of an old blind gent that we used to play cards with,he had a braille deck of cards, his feeling the cards was better than our seeing the cards,he won almost every game but we loved him just the same.
Glad you had fun on your "writers" events.I envy you.
We had a very quiet hallowe'en night. No bad tricks were done anywhere but I was dis-appointed we only had 9 little dressed up kids and 2 adult ones, I bought treats enough for 35 although the most we ever had here was 22.My sons in Bridgewater had around a hundred each at their houses, don't know about the rest of the family as to how many they had.Places that get that many usually only give out a bag of chips each or one candy bar, I gave each one that came here, 2 candy bars, can pop,2 bags of chips.
I love to see the little ones dressed as pirates, clowns or whatever they dream up.I was a nice mild night so I really thought I would get more visitors.Had the living room trimmed in Hallowe'en fare, lifelike crows, a mat that screams when you tramp on it, big lit up ghost,a lit witch on a broom, and some straw people. One little boy made it all worthwhile, he was awed by it all ! I don't know who he was, his mom had her face mask on too so I have no idea who they were.
Have a great week !
