Subject: Possums.

We don't have squirrels in Aust.but we do have possums. They too get into roofs, and make a mess.. to put in politely they urinate in there as well as running around making a noise. They are a protected species here, so you are not permitted to kill them.
Fortunately where I live they don't get in the roof, but I've heard them in the fruit trees in the yard next door.
They make a really scary noise! If you don't already know it's a possum making that noise it can give you a fright!
I sometimes think how the first settlers in Australia must have been scared witless by all the peculiar animal noises.

We have no possums in Canada or at least not in any of the eastern provinces , at least squirrels and chipmunks just make little chirping noises but possums that are portrade in comic books and cartoons look so cute.
I have 3 deer coming to the lawn to eat accorns every morning. I hope they hang around here until after deer hunting season because no one is allowed to shoot near houses. Ellie we have a deer hunting season every fall,the deer are so beautiful I don't know how anyone could shoot them but on the other hand there are so many now that they are running across roads causing car accidents and if some are not shot they will starve because in people populated areas the food for them is scarce.I guess the same must be true of your kangaroos..am I right?
