Subject: Expecting a Major Snowstorm tomorrow

Hi Ellie & Tina,

Today it is very cold outside but sunny. The windchill makes it feel worse. We are expecting a Nor'Easter storm starting after midnight. I expect Tina that you will be experiencing snow also. Ellie, I hope your weather is not too warm for you.

I have to sit for my granddaughter tomorrow which will be difficult due to the weather. It will be a challenge to get Rufus into the car and back home because of around 2 feet of snow. It is expected that 2-3 inches of heavy snow at a time will be coming down and will last 24 hours. I am sure we will have some power outages too. Wish me luck.

We have had very cold weather for many, many days and not a lot of snow up until the upcoming snow tomorrow.

The good news is that my foot is much better. The orthopedic doctor came me a shot of Cortisone and prescribed heat and it has been 2 weeks and does not hurt to walk on it.

We are going out to an Italian restaurant today to celebrate Mary's birthday. There are 3 of us who celebrate each others birthdays. Nancy will be celebrating her birthday in October.

When it is cold like this and snowy, food and good books are always great to pass the time of day. Rufus and I still have to take 4-5 short walks a day. Even with his arthritis medication, he needs help up the stairs. I have a ramp which I also use when it is not too slippery.

Since I keep reading that dark chocolate is good, I have been buying a package with individual squares to enjoy. The only problem is to limit ones self to a few. I also have been cooking stews and pasta dishes which I share with my daughter as I always cook a very large amount and I get tired of eating it too many days in a row. I also like a string bean dish with tomatoes, green peppers, and garlic.

I enjoy reading both of your posting and send my best to you. I will let you know how we do after the storm.

Phyllis

schools are all closed today..no, no snow..ice everywhere,
roads look like they are made of glass, in fact everything looks like it is made of glass, we are on the southern tip of Nova Scotia, all the rest of the province got lots of snow, we got lots of rain and a sudden freeze.Still drizzeling out and freezing as it lands,if it were snow you could drive in it but ice..no way!
