Subject: I got pearls!

Thanks for your birthday wishes Tina and Phyliss. I'm not talking about 'pearls of wisdom' LOL! This morning my daughter arrived before 9am to take me on a 'mystery tour' she wouldn't say where or what for. We ended up in a jewellers in a big shopping complex, and I was presented with a tray of six different strings of cultured pearls to choose one. My youngest son and d-in-law were also in on this. The one I chose, beautiful creamy pink ones, were the ones thay had liked best too! Next we drove to my grandaughters place, and she told me we had to go shopping.. so went to another plaza and she bought me a bracelet of freshwater pearls linked with silver.
Then we had lunch, and just after I got home there was a knock on the door and it was a courier with a beautiful big basket of flowers and fruit from my son and d-in-law in Sydney. Whow, I felt so spoiled!
The only mean thing was that the weather is still hot, humid and sticky.. but it's supposed to be cooler across the weekend.YAY!
Ellie.

Wow pearls...well they must think their mother is a real "pearle" Well done ! Pearls are so beautiful and actually make the wearer look younger, remember the Queen mother how lovely she looked with her pearls?
At 7 am this morn my friend Sylvia and I are going to the hospital to do up the finances for the hospital gift shop and then she has to go to a funeral in the valley so that is why we are going to do our volunteer duties so early, hopefully we will have the books done and things off to the bank by noon.
Have a great "cool" day, I am wishing you a cool one!

Hi Ellie & Tina,

Ellie, What a wonderful gift and surprise for your birthday.
Pearls are so beautiful and such a thoughtful gift. I know you will enjoy wearing them too. The flowers and fruit from your son and daughter-in-law must have made your day!
I guess even though we are a year older on our birthday we do so like and appreciate our families greetings and thoughtfulness.

We had another snowfall all day Friday and after it snowed, it turned to freezing rain. It started after Midnight on Thursday. My son-in-law picked me and Rufus up at 6:10 a.m. on Friday and I did not return home until 5:00 p.m. It made for a long day but Kaitlyn took a 2 l/2 hour nap.
It was difficult for Rufus because of the snow and also getting into my son-im-law's car is not easy. The seat if higher than my car. Hopefully we will not get another major storm this winter. (wishful thinking?)

I imagine Tina that you also got snow and probably ice too.
Saturday and today is beautiful outside. The temperature was in the 40's on Saturday. It is windy today, so it is cooler but clear.

March is a busy month as a friend of mine and my sister is retiring after 20 years with the State. She worked with my sister and is a policy writer. We are taking her out to lunch next Monday and also will be attending a farwell party at her office the end of the month.

I am also going out with 3 of my close high school friends for supper and catching up on our families. Two of them I have not seen in 3 years. The other one is my daughter's babysitter.

I hope everyone has a good week and I look forward to reading your postings.

Phyllis
