Subject: Slow again!

Good morning Girls! It's early morning here, and one of those confusing times. We just came off daylight saving last night, but by now after several months ON it, I woke up an hour earlier as usual. At last we are getting a little rain and some pretty Autumn weather after one more horribly hot day. This morning my daughter and son-in law are arriving to take me on a visit to a beautiful historic garden called 'Heronswood' so I'm. looking forward to that.
Phyliss I can imagine how tired you were after 4 days of minding Kaitlyn(and digging snow!) Tina, the horsedrawn wagons and hot chocolate sound delightful. hope you,Cynthia and Zoe had a great time.
My youngest son, Simon, wife, and 16 month old Matilda are currently in England on holiday for 3 weeks. There was snow in York and they were delighted.. as snow is not a normal feature here!
I've had a couple of wonderful theatre outings with friends, a mens chorale performance, and a play called 'Harp on the Willows' Other than that have just been busy with work, my writing etc..
Off now to have a shower and make myself beautiful LOL! to go out.
Ellie.

Hi Ellie & Tina,

We had only 1 inch of snow overnight, thank goodness that is all. We are expected to have warm weather during the day this coming week.

Ellie, I know what you mean by the time change. It is always difficult to adjust when it first takes place. I really use to mind it when I was working. Just think I have been retired 3 l/2 years and love being retired too.
It is always so relaxing to view beautiful flowers and especially with your family members. I hope you have a great day.

Tina, how is your weather been? You must have enjoyed spending time with Cynthia & Zoe.

We took Kaitlyn to a restaurant yesterday to celebrate her other grandmother's birthday. The weather was beautiful and we ordered a grilled cheese sandwich for Kaitlyn. Her mother cut it up small pieces. Kaitlyn was thrilled when we told her she would be eating a sandwich. What she really enjoyed were some french fries with ketchup that were on grandmother's plate.

I also had an enjoyable outing with my three childhood friends, (we all attended the same school throughout the years)and all of us still live in the same city. We went to a restaurant called "The Commonman" which had delicious food and one of my friend's husband treated us to our meals. We left saying that we need to do this more often.
We caught up on news and of course we brought pictures of our grandchildren to share. I ordered scallops and garlic mashed potatoes along with vegetables and Italian bread. The restaurant serve white chocolate at the end of the meal.

Tuesday my sister and I are attending a retirement party for a former co-worker of my sister.

Easter will be here before we know it. I will be having Easter dinner for my family here in the area. I am planning on ham as main meal and probably will be making a spinach pie too.

Wishing you both a good week.
Phyllis
