Subject: Sad News

Hi Tina & Ellie,

Today I called the vet to make a house call as my beloved golden retriever, Rufus had a very very hard time making it back into the house up the ramp. It was the first time I heard him cry up in pain. He had been getting worse the last couple of days.

My daughter and sister came over to be with me and we all said our goodbyes. I had 3 hours with him before the vet was schedule to come and know that it was the right thing to do. My heart is broken but peace in knowing he was at his home when the moment arrived. The church bells rang outside shortly afterwards and today was Earth Day. I know it will take me a long time to adjust. I am grateful that I share our special bond for 15 years and that we made it through the winter months.

When Kaitlyn asks for him, we have decided to tell her that he went to Rainbow Bridge.

Sadly,
Phyllis

Oooh Phyllis I am so sorry for you but you gave your dog a wonderful life. I do hope you give a wonderful life to another dog real soon. Some people think they are being dis-loyal to their former pet but it has always been my belief and the belief of many dog workers that your former pet would want you to give that much love and happiness to another dog.
You are wise to tell Kaitlyn the truth.
