Subject: some folks are extra lucky

Oh you lucky people in Australia!! We just had another snow storm on top of the one I mentioned below.there are snow drifts higher than I am and after the plows went I had to shovel a path off the patio and shovel the front patio off so the dogs could get out and so I could feed the poor little birds. It is minus 12 cels this morning and supposed to go to minus 30 tonight.I have tights on under my slacks and 2 layers of tops on and the heat turned up high which will cost a small fortune.I do have to admit the beauty outside this morning is a glory to behold.White snow clinging to the green pines and other evergreens.Beautiful clear blue sky with the sun glistening on the snow.
The only wild animals are a few rabbits running to keep warm and the deer must be deep in the woods to keep warm..I saw tracks of one fox but other than that all wild animals are asleep in their dens for the winter.I don't know how the poor little birds stand this but there are plenty of them coming for seeds that I put out.
At night after work you can hear folks out running around with their snowmobiles..I used to do that but not any more.
Snow is too deep for sleds but good for tobogganing or snow boards but a heck of a tough job walking back up the hill with snow above your hips.lol
HOpe everyone has a good day..I just couldn't resist trying to portray the beauty and the cruel cold..

Hi Tina,

Thank you for your birthday wishes.

Today, Friday we have very cold weather. It is minus 3 degrees and expected to continue to get colder. With the wind chill factor is minue 19 below. We have managed to escape any significant snowfall but that might change. We could have lots of snow starting Saturday but weathermen are still tracking it. I too have been wearing many layers to keep warm.

Your description of the beauty of the clear blue sky with the sun glistening on the snow and the evergreen trees to behold is one of the postive results. I think as we get older it is difficult to deal with this snow and ice. I too have to shovel in order to get my car out of the driveway even though I have driveway plowed. My driveway is very narrow and the city plows the front of it in as we are on a busy street especially during the work week. The state offices are located off of our street.

I am trying to keep my dog happy by playing some games with him. My back yard is fenced in so I can let him out instead of our usual walks but he prefers to go out walking.

I celebrated my son-in-law's birthday yesterday. I made a large pot of stew beef and brought along Italian bread and went to my daughter's house.
