Subject: Baby Kaitlyn's Arrival

My daughter's baby was born on June 7th. (this was her due date) Her name is Kaitlyn Nicole and she weighed 7 lbs. and 7 1/2 ozs. She was 19 l/2 inches long. She has blue eyes, light brown hair and light eyebrows and chubby cheeks. Several people said she takes after her father's side of the family. His sister is a blonde with blue eyes.

My daughter had a c-section which was scheduled after 12 hours of labor that was not progressing. Her husband and I were in the operating room as we were both her labor partners. She went into the operating room at 9:00 p.m. at night and Kaitlyn was born at 9:38 p.m. It was very exciting to see her and hold her so soon after her birth. It was an experience which I will always cherish.

I have been helping them out as I live nearby. Her husband has paternity leave too. Nights are difficult as Kaitlyn sleeps a lot during the day and is wide awake from 9:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. She is one week old today.

. I will being taking care of Kaitlyn at her home when my daughter returns to work in about 3 months.

Rufus (my golden retriever)will be coming along too. We are looking forward to this new adventure. I had bought a baby doll and wrapped her in a receiving blanket with Kaitlyn's scent on it. I also will be introducing Rufus to her next week. I will let you know how things are going

Congratulations-what a beautiful name for your princess of a granddaughter! How wonderful that you can help out and look after the little one.Isn't it a wonderful feeling?
