Subject: Good Morning!

Tina, Phyliss...others? Where are you? No mail since my last note! Well, it's a beautiful sunny morning here after a day of rain and cold winds yesterday. Still winter, but signs of Spring in the air. I see it's been a VERY hot summer in the USA and Canada, and I dread to think what ours might be like when it comes. I am NOT a heat lover!
I've just put bread out on my window sill for the doves.Yesterday there was one, today four, obviously they are telling the neighbours!
Only 3 weeks to go to expected arrival of my grandaughters baby.! Had afternoon tea out with her and her Mom last Sunday. Rebekah is looking gorgeous, but tired now.. wanting it to be over.
We (work) have moved into new share premises at a place called Preston Creative Living and Learning Centre. We get 2 offices, art space, and use of all facilities including a spacious dining room.Outside there is a large pleasant lawn and garden area with seating.. so much nicer than the tiny hole of an office we had before.
On Thursdays and Fridays the centre puts on a free community lunch which anyone is welcome to come to.. so as we were celebrating a client's birthday yesterday we all went to the lunch which was very nice, chicken chow mein and apple crumble and icecream. They even made him a birthday cake!
Hope all are well, and children, grands, and pets!
Ellie.

Hi Ellie,

Thanks for your recent posting. How exciting that a new baby will be arriving soon. Please let us know when the baby arrives.

Your new office surroundings sound so nice and pleasant. It handy to have a dinning room too.

This week the weather is so hot and humid. The weekend was cooler though. I am not a fan of hot, sunny, weather. I like it cooler.

I have been very busy visiting my daughter and helping out with my granddaughter. She is 2 months old already. The time is going by so fast. I will be babysitting beginning Aug 30th. I plan on doing 3 full days a week and one of my former classmates who I have known for a long time will do the other 2 days. She has been doing child care for infants through 3 years of age for many years.

I also have been busy with trying to rent my upstairs apartment. If all goes well I should have it rented this week. I had someone interested and she even made a deposit and then later that evening she called and said she wanted to think about it. The next day she called back and still had not made up her mind. I told her that I would return her deposit as I had a couple interested in it.

Also my golden retriever had an episode of 2 large hot spots that seem to come on so suddenly. He had done well all this summer. We went to vets and they shaved the area and put him on medication. He has a history of allergies. He is doing well now but not happy because we only go out for our walks very early in the A.M. due to the heat. My yard is fenced in but it is still too hot to be out for long. If it cools in the evening we go for another short one. I have been running my air condition most of the time.

Hi to Tina too. I hope you are having a little cooler weather then we are.

Please keep in touch.

Phyllis
