Subject: Merry Christmas and a Better New Year

Margaret, Ellie, Tina, Kylie, Dudo & Phyliss I hope the festive season with family and friends is a great one. Yes, I hope 2004 is better in every way for you all. Thinking of you all and wishing every happiness.

Ellie I am so pleased you will be spending the Christmas/New Year holidays with all your family, how wonderful to have them all home.

Tina, Merry Christmas to you and your lovely family. I know you have problems, but are very blessed having such a wonderful support as your family seem. Take care and hope you are feeling okay over Christmas.

Dudo, I can imagine you guys having a "true blue" Christmas, maybe a barbie?

Margaret, I hope Bill is feeling better and your family has a good Christmas as well.

Phyliss, I hope you have a wonderful time in the New Year with your family and two Granddaughters, I imagine you are looking so forward to seeing them.

Kylie, I know your beliefs and totally respect them. Shall I just wish you all the best in the New Year and please continue to let us enjoy J & X's stories, I know we enjoy them.

Me? Well, off to Adelaide for 2 days from very early Christmas morning to Saturday. My sister, husband and one son are coming over from Melbourne. The other boy is in England at the moment. Rob will come back Christmas night to look after the animals and I am looking forward to catching up with my Mum and Leigh. Leigh is actually working until 3.00pm Christmas day but will see him for dinner.

On a side note, I have been a bit quiet on here of late. I have not felt my normal self all year (thinking it was Menopause related) and just found out that I have Type II Diabetes. Hence, my feeling of general unwellness. My Dad and an Uncle had the same thing, so not really surprised. Basically, it's a change of diet to a healthy one, not as restrictive as I thought. I'm certainly not complaining, it's given me the wake up call I needed to look after myself better (Leigh always says I take care of the animals better than myself - lol). So, next year I will be fighting fit and and feeling a million dollars - I do like to be positive.

Anyway, just thought I would let you all know about my very small problem and if anyone has any tried and successful Diabetic recipes I shall be grateful.

I treasure the friends I have found on this board and think of you all often. Take care.

Thank you for your Holiday greetings. I hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas. I will be having some of the family (the ones who live in New Hampshire) for Christmas dinner. I also will be celebrating on Christmas eve afternoon with my sister's husbands family for dinner. They live about an hour travel time from my house.

I can hardly wait to see my granddaughters in Florida and will be leaving in January for a visit. My ex-husband and I will be traveling together. We enjoy each others company and became good friends when our first granddaughter was born. He lives alone and about 10 minutes from my house so we often have supper together or go out to eat. He is still working full time.

Sorry to hear about your not feeling well and finding out you have Type II Diabetes. It is good that you found out so you can keep it under control. It usually runs in families. I have seen good books advertised that have good recipes for diabetics. Does your insurance cover a nutritionist, if so perhaps they could give you more information on good choices.

Wishing everyone a Joyous Holiday Season and a Happy, Healthy, Peaceful, Prosperous, New Year. I enjoy chatting will all of you and learning so much about other areas outside of New Hampshire.
