Subject: Just a message from bitter cold Nova Scotia

We are having a cold snap-minus 29 to minus 33 cels..only about 8 cent of nice fluffy snow..snow is fluffy because it is too cold for moisture to soften it.Poor pets-run out only long enough to do their doodles-run back on 3 feet-changing foot positions as they rush in.Supposed to be like this next few days..I don't mind zero weather but the minus zero is far from my liking.Very expensive on whatever anyone uses for heat.ours is all electric.
I have some good news..perhaps due to those of you who prayed for me..the chemo is working acord to my tests..I have 2 more 6 and 1/2 hour sessions of chemo-oneFeb 3rd and the last Feb 24..after that it is up to the lord whether things get all right. They can't give more than that in chemo because it will eat up my good cells..only so many can be given before the body gets immune to the chemo or the chemo burns up needed cells.
I did not have to postpone any chemos - most people have to wait an extra week sometimes because the white cells go down and have to replenish-Doctors said what ever I am eating to keep it up..must be what my body needs..I eat a sweet potato every second day-lots of Blueberries-frosen and stewed this time of year-lots of strawberries and all the green veggies I can eat.Regardless of the chemo and some of its effects I have been enjoying my winter and each day I make the best of-visiting-having visitors in..playiong with the pets or grandchildren..walking outside withthe dogs each day I am able.,some days the chemo hurts the legs toomuch for walks..so just a walk in the yard has to sufice.
I know Phyllis must be having as cold weather as we are here if she has returned from Florida..must get after her for an update.
The rest of you may cool off for a bit thinking about us being as cold as the inside of your deep freezes..Except Margaret who must have it better in England.
Love to all..writers-Moms-pet Moms - friends

Hi Tina and other "coffee chat readers",

I returned from my wonderful visit with my son, daughter-in-law and granddaughters.

First, I am so happy that everything is working for you. I have had you in my prayers every nite and will continue to pray for you. Prayer as you know is very powerful.

I love blueberries and could eat them in large quantities. Have been able to still buy them unfrozen but they are expensive this time of the year. My daughter-in-law made a dish with sweet potatoes that was so tasty. If I get the recipe from her sometimes I will give it to you.

It might be a while before I get the recipe as my daughter-in-law is very, very busy. They moved into a larger home last summer and are having major renovations done and the contractors are behind schedule. They are living in part of the house until everything is finished. It is in a lovely area and nice neighborhood and nearer to my son's law office. They also has 2 dogs, one is a black lab, the other one they adopted is a yellow lab.

My two year daughter, Ariana is very active and has an incrediable vocabulary for a two year old. She was a little shy but after seeing her grandmother and grandfather for several days in a row she was giving us kisses and when we left she said I love you grandma and and also ran to her grandfather and said I love you grandpa. It made his day!

Athena is a very sweet little girl. She will be 2 months old on January 19th. She is already in size 3-6 months. I got to hold her a lot and got her to smile. She has a swing but when fussing prefers to be held and rocked. She has lighter hair then her sister's and her eye are blue right now. I'm not sure if they will change color as sister's color is brown.

The weather is Florida was so warm compared to New Hampshire. One day I actually had to take off my jacket as I was too warm. When I returned home the temperature was very cold and tonight and tomorrow will probably break a record due to the windchill. I had to call the plumber yesterday because my tenants had no cold water. The pipe froze and the plumber had to use a blow torch. I'm hoping it will warm up soon as we have to keep the temperature at 70 degrees day and night. We heat by oil heat and it is expensive.

Sounds like you have the same kind of temperature in Nova Scotia. The cold is coming from Canada.

My dog, Rufus, has not be able to take any walks due to the extreme cold. He runs out in the back yard and back in as soon as he can.

My birthday is tomorrow and I will be celebrating with family and also will be going out with my friends this weekend or next(restaurant of my choice).

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Phyllis, reading your message I realised that I had mixed up your granddaughters' names with those of another lady on another list. I asked her how her dgd Ariana was doing yesterday. OOPS!

Oh well, at least now I've realised my mistake.

Glad to hear you had a nice time.

Kylie
