Subject: follow up from yesterdays

We really got dumped on-most snow from one day since 1944..3 and 1/2 feet..hip deep for most people but then there are heaps of snow blown higher from the 90 to 100 klm gust of winds. Most people lost their electical power but thank heavens we didn't...the snow is too deep for our plow truck to clear..called a man to come with his loader to clear our driveway today plus a tree blew down across the driveway so he has to saw that before he can get through-my driveway is real long and circles behind the house so you can come in one entrance and leave by another.
All schools stores are closed again today until things get cleared up..no one is supposed to go on the roads unless it is an emergency..the storm is over but the wind is blowing the snow that is down and causing white outs.
The big city of Halifax is just about closed down..first time in History of the city .and everyone was talking about global warming..well where did all this come from?
Had to shovel a path big enough for the dogs to go have a pee etc...does this cool you folks off?
Phillis did you folks get any part of this..watched your american channels and didn't see anything about it.Nova Scotia and PEI have been declared as being in state of emergency.
Are you folks in Aust. familiar with "Killer Instinct" t,v program..I love it..always shows the beautiful birds and animals you have..last night it was showing the beautiful animals in the crator lakes area.

Hi Tina,

Sorry to hear that you are experiencing the after effects of a major bizzard. I can relate to that from previous blizzards we have had in the past. We were very fortunate as the snow missed us and went further towards the south.

We have had cold weather so it has kept the snow away. We are due to get freezing rain tomorrow (Saturday). Thank goodness you did not lose your electricity. Nothing worse then having no heat or able to cook anything.

3 l/1 feet deep sounds terrible. Then with all the snow drifts it makes it impossible for anyone to get around. My oldest sister and her husband live about 18 miles from me and out in the country and they have a terrible time in the winter with snow drifts and power outages. New England winters are tough.

I am not familiar "Killer Instinct" program but we do have an animal channel that has a variety of animal programs. I enjoy watching it and learning about many different animals. They also have stories about pets that are placed in foster homes while waiting for adoption and show the successful ones in their new home. It is so heart warming that there are wonderful people who care to help these homeless animals.

I hope the weather will improve for you soon.

Take care.
